Introduction to AIDA

WELCOME TO THE ASSOCIATED INDEPENDENT DRAMATIC ARTISTS WEB SITE!

AIDA is a new way of doing theater, but right now it is just a web site, an idea realized only "on paper" or "on computer." It takes you for it to exist "in action."

AIDA is a democratically structured play producing association. Historically (and currently), play producing groups and companies form themselves in cities and outlying areas and compete for a share of the market, the market being playgoers, government and business grants, and charitable contributions. Now we have a chance to organize ourselves cooperatively rather than competitively. We can truly produce the best plays for the most people at the least expensive price. We can facilitate the development of each theater artist and budding artist rather than simply accept or reject their efforts.

Here's how it can start:

Step 1: Conduct information seminars for interested persons
Step 2: Recruit interested persons to serve on Originating Committee
Step 3: Make history. We'll be the first of our kind.

I invite you to review (or study) this web site at your leisure to get a better idea of the Association. If you are interested in the idea, then fill out the form below and submit it. Follow the updates at the right side of the page.
